Martin
Ski Dome (1939 - 1942) Huskey Chalet (1947-1956) Vertical Drop:300' Top: Base: Lifts: 2 rope tows Note:Located near Northern
Pacific Railroad tunnel on Stampede Pass. Operated by Associated Students of the University
of Washington known as the Husky Winter Sports Club.
Originally built as the Martin Ski Dome by the Northern Pacific Railroad
then after the war was sold to the UW Students Association when the railroad
gave up its interest in developing the ski area.
60 acres of land purchased in 1946 by AS of
UW from NP Railroad.
I'm told that the heavy snows of 1956 crushed
the lodge and the site was never rebuilt.
