Description of the Milwaukee Ski Bowl from the 1949 Washington State Sportsmen's Guide


The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad runs and maintains the Milwaukee Ski Bowl, at Hyak, near Snoqualmie Summit.  The company runs special trains from Seattle to this area.  New type tally-ho ski lift.  Ski run 1650'.  The ski tow will elevate skiers to 6,000'.  Skiers will have a choice of runs to the lodge 5 miles away.  Cross-country enthusiasts can ski eight miles from Silver Peak to Bandera, boarding Seattle bound train there.  The only means of transportation to and from Milwaukee Bowl is via the Milwaukee Road.
